Optometry Giving Sight is a global fund raising organization that specifically targets the prevention of blindness and impaired vision due to uncorrected refractive error - simply the need for an eye exam and a pair of glasses. This organization was first launched in the UK in 2003, followed by Australia and the Netherlands in 2004, the United States and Canada in 2005, and Italy in 2006. In 2009, Optometry Giving Sight launched in Norway, Singapore and Ireland. Our eyes are the most valued sense. We see the world though our eyes. We learn with our eyes and communicate with our eyes. A person should not be limited by poor vision because they do not have access to eye examination and the glasses they need. At least 670 million people around the world are blind or vision impaired. Order in the month of October and a A Sight For Sport Eyes will donate 5% of every order to Optometry Giving Sight to help raise the funds needed to deliver sustainable eye care to those in need.
